"Paraga" is a greek word thats stand for a temporary settlement with no foundation built with found materials and junk. It is usually used by gypsies and it looks like an urban hut of some sorts.
Based on the same principles the paraga projekt is a network built with resources found free on-line. Blogs, myspace, image hosts, upload servers, video hosts combined with simple
links and html coding to form a multi-purpose personal "space".

Characteristics:
  • Temporary. Since paraga has no foundation -such as a bought domain - it can collapse any minute. if for example a file host site closes down
  • Limited aesthetics. Since none of the found resources gives full control of editing the aesthetic and functional design is limited to whatever the resource offers
  • Mobility. In case of collapse tha paraga can move somewhere using other resources with very little editing (almost nothing else but copy-paste procedures)
  • Expansion. Any new resources can merge with the pre-existing paraga easily with a simple href.
  • Many paraga linked together form a favela.
  • Paraga is a parasite.
  • Paraga itself is legal. Its context can make it illegal.
  • Since paraga uses whatever can be found regardless its quality, it has low quality itself (no accebility standards, no html or css strict, low speed, nothing fancy)
  • Paraga has no commercial use. Putting advertisements is against its philosophy. The used resources must be chosen wisely to avoid commercial exploit from hosts -to the point it can be avoided-
This paraga uses:
  • 1 gmail account
  • 6 blogs
  • 1 youtube account
  • 1 deviantart account
  • 1 myspace account
  • 1 photobucket account
  • simple html to "glue" them together
  • rapidshare
  • zshare
Feel free to built your own paraga. Any contributions and propositions for existing resources and how to use them are more than welcome.
